I was all set to buy a ring from a well known UK high street chain, not knowing anything much about diamonds. I just happened to stumble across 1791 Diamonds whilst searching Yahoo, and I'm glad I did. Their website was very informative about the 4 C's and showed me what I ought to have been looking at. I found a gorgeous ring and then picked my own diamond to put in it, having weighed up all the options. It turns out that although I've spent roughly the same as I would have in the high street shop, I have a much better diamond in terms of colour, clarity and cut. The staff at 1791 are very helpful indeed, and keep you informed of what's going on.
They also offer a free re-sizing service which is included in the price of your ring. All in all, I was very impressed with the whole experience, particularly as they met a very tight deadline in getting the finished product to me. Oh, and of course the most important thing...? She said "yes", and absolutely LOVED the ring.

She absolutely loves the ring and everyone she has shown is raving about it. I can not thank you both enough for all you did in helping me so much with every aspect of the ring.
We are expecting to tie the not towards the end of 2014 and will defiantly have the other rings made with you so that can match the exquisite beauty of the engagement ring.
Thank you again so very, very much. I will be sending as many people as possible your way.
Kind regards,
Alex
Pero Diamond Ring Review
A single beautiful solitaire diamond can make a stunning statement for an engagement ring; remember, though, that your choice of diamond need not be restricted to the traditional round brilliant. Pero from 1791 Diamonds offers a striking alternative with a lovely pear diamond.
The pear, with its elegant tear drop shape, is a brilliant cut diamond and is half oval and half marquise and therefore offers a fabulous display of fire and brilliance. All 1791 diamonds are of either Excellent or Very Good cut - the very top cut grades - so you can be assured that your diamond will not show signs of the "bow tie" effect which can occur in some elongated fancy shaped diamonds. This is a dark area in the shape of a bow tie that occurs when the angles of the diamond cut are not optimum.
Some of the world's most valuable diamonds have been cut into the pear shape and have been the choice of the rich and famous. The best known is probably the 69 carat Taylor-Burton pear shaped diamond given by Richard Burton to Elizabeth Taylor. The Pero is certainly a glamorous diamond engagement ring, but rest assured, you will do not need to pay millions for this gorgeous ring!
