Like everyone else, I too had reservations about making such an important purchase over the internet. Wow, Amazing, Beautiful....these are just a few of the words that describe the beautiful eternity ring that I had the pleasure of designing with the team at 1791 diamonds, Alice in particular. Alice met with us and took the time to get to know the both of us so that she could design a ring that linked both Luke and I together. We got to share this exciting opportunity after winning Bride of The Year 2009. The ring we designed is everything that I had hoped for..not that I had any idea about what I wanted when I first met with Alice, but she was very patient and her quick responses to emails and sending through images made the designing process so much fun, like opening a new present every day :). The whole team were very efficient replying to telephone calls and emails and it was not long before I had a ring that I had helped design, my very own unique ring that I have had so many comments about. Talk about timing they even delivered to the exact day that Luke had proposed to me two years earlier.

After dealing with such nice people and truly getting to have "your very own ring" I would never walk into a store to get a ring that someone else may have. I would take the time to meet with the team at 1791 and design another ring in a heartbeat. Talia, from 1791 Diamonds, is an elegant diamond engagement ring in the classic style of round brilliant solitaires. It features a four prong setting with a unique cross over style included in the ring shank and is available in 18kt yellow gold, 18kt white gold or platinum.

Although this design is very simple, it is anything but plain; rather, it allows the beautiful diamond to take centre stage without distraction. The round brilliant is the most popular shape diamond for engagement rings and for very good reason. With its 58 facets, the round brilliant displays the most brilliance, fire, and scintillation of all diamond cuts.

While the shape of the diamond is very important, the amount of sparkle that a diamond displays also depends on how well it has been cut. If a diamond is cut too shallowly then light will escape through the base of the diamond and if cut too deeply it will exit via the sides. However, when cut just perfectly most of the light will be reflected out through the table at the person looking into the diamond. Diamonds with Excellent or Very Good cut grades are quite enchanting to look at because of how they sparkle. All 1791 diamonds are of either Excellent or Very Good cut.
